  1. How long does it take to register a business in Kenya?

Registering a business in Kenya generally takes between 3 and 10 working days from start to finish, depending on the type of business you wish to register. The entire registration process is fully automated and paperless through the Business Registration Service (BRS) on the eCitizen portal. However, the exact timeline depends significantly on the structure you choose. Read more about business registration timelines and fees here.

  2. What is the difference between a Business Name and a Company Name?

A Business Name (sole proprietorship or partnership) is legally tied directly to its owner, whereas a Private Limited Company is a separate legal entity from its owners

  3. What are the charges to register a business in Kenya?

The charges differ depending on the business you wish to register.
